WES Occupational Health & Safety
WES has embarked on achieving a level of Occupational Health and Safety that will enable the company to not only to meet our legal and moral responsibilities but become an employer of choice.
The performance standards promoted by WES are consistent with the Australian / New Zealand Standard 4804.
The standard we have achieved is based on a proven continuous improvement model incorporating five performance standards to ensure world's best OHS&W practice.
- Commitment and policy: management and worker commitment to ensure success.
- Planning: effective planning to define measurable outcomes.
- Implementation : appropriate resources and capabilities available.
- Measurement and evaluation: performance measured, monitored and evaluated.
- Management systems review and improvement: to ensure continuous improvement.
The continuous improvement management model clearly designates overall responsibility for OHS&W, rehabilitation and claims administration to senior management of our organisation.
The performance standards do not replace legislative requirements or relieve our organisation of the responsibility of complying with the New South Wales Occupational Health & Safety Act 2000, Approved Codes of Practice and Australian Standards (called up in the regulations).
A comprehensive OHS&W Plan and a Safety Handbook has been developed - the nucleus of our long term strategies are underpinned by our OHS&W Policy. (copys available by request to customers whom we are contracted to or about to enter into contract to).
The companies' long term goals are focussed on the principle of " aim for nothing short of zero tolerance towards hazards, incidents and accidents"
To reinforce our commitment we have adopted the "SAFER STATEMENT"
